Abstract
Privacy is a basic and foundational human good meriting moral and legal protection (Allen 2011). Privacy isn’t, however, everything (Allen 2003). Other goods and values matter, too (Solove 2003; Marmor 2015). Bioethicists are rethinking privacy and confidentiality as health-related policy imperatives in light of the common good and digital life (Austin 2003).
