Abstract
“Blended Practices” is an innovative holistic defense initiative of the Adult Social Services Unit of the Defender Association of Philadelphia. Through direct relationships with community-based agencies across a range of social services, an amplified pre-entry program, and an in-the-courthouse social services hub, the Unit is able to support the recovery of clients with substance abuse issues and limit their incarceration. This video was directed and produced by Penn Law Class of 2019 students Jaclyn Castelar, Shabel Castro, Anna Marion, and Nathalie Sosa; LL.M Class of 2019 student Olufemi Omosuyi; and Penn College of Arts and Sciences Class of 2020 Mélisande McLaughlin.
