Abstract

Years before the current round of rankings upheaval, U.S. News announced a potential new scholarly impact ranking in partnership with HeinOnline. This gave new urgency to the debate about whether legal scholarly impact could or should be measured. The U.S. News plan was quietly shelved but left many questions in its wake about future work in law scholarly ranking. Professor Watson’s work examines the failed ranking, the questions that remain, and the path forward.
